Description:
Every show in history has started with a Lab production, in which all the creative people and parts come together and the show is developed. In this five part workshop students will get the chance to feel what it is like to create a show together throughout a condensed “rehearsal process”. They will be assigned roles in a scene and song from a show in the contemporary or classic musical theatre catalogue. After doing an initial table read, students will learn the music with a music director. Then they will work together with the instructor to build the performance; exercising their own artistic and creative input, learning how to adapt the performance by changing it “on its feet” and finally previewing the performance for an audience of family and friends.
