Description:
A wonderful opportunity for the budding professional. In this five part class students will bring in two age appropriate songs from the classic or contemporary musical theatre genres. We will work with an accompanist to cut the music so it is perfectly tailored for audition purposes. Then the students will work one at a time to present their songs, getting notes on how to improve, be taught proper audition etiquette and learn the unwritten “rules of the room” so they can be less intimidated when it comes time to audition. By offering this class in a group setting, students will also feel what it is to be “behind the table” when the other students are performing, a valuable learning tool for anyone interested in auditioning. Our fifth and final class will be treated as the audition, putting friends and family in the audience to observe what the students have learned.
